Standard Chartered hires new global head from DBS in Singapore

Standard Chartered has hired Christine Johnson as global head of enterprise agility, based in Singapore. Johnson was previously an executive director at DBS, a firm she joined in January 2017 to “drive business transformation”, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Enterprise agility jobs, which typically come with titles such as coach or consultant, focus on taking a “whole organisation” approach to implementing structural and cultural transformation, so that all business units can adapt more quickly to changes in market demand.

Johnson is not the only recent Standard Chartered recruit whose role is focused on transformation. As we reported at the time, Max Boulat from Bank of Singapore joined SCB in June as a director of agile transformation, technology and innovation.

Stan Chart is a particularly active recruiter in the space because Singapore is home to most of its global business leadership, as well as its technology, operations, and innovation hubs. Last year, for example, it took on Christopher Williams (ex-Deloitte and UBS) as global head of strategy, governance and change for technology services.

Prior to DBS, Johnson spent more than nine years at Australian financial services firm Suncorp, latterly as executive manager, agile, “focused on embedding enterprise agility” across the group.

Standard Chartered did not respond to a request to comment on her move.
