A top French structurer left BNP Paribas for Nomura in Hong Kong
French equity structurers educated in the Grandes Écoles are all the rage these days. French structurers from French banks may be even more desirable. One such structurer has emerged at Japanese bank Nomura after two and a half decades with BNP Paribas; his new role appears to be a significant upgrade.

Maxime Lecoin has joined Nomura as a managing director and head of equity structuring for Asia (excluding Japan) and EMEA, based in the bank's Hong Kong office. He was most recently BNP Paribas' head of equity structuring for Japan, based in the bank's Tokyo office for the last three years.
Lecoin also started his career in Tokyo, but spent the bulk of his time at BNP based in its Paris headquarters. Among his many roles, he served as head of advanced pricing for equity derivatives trading, and spent seven years in sales as its head of EMEA premium and digital solutions sales within equity derivatives.
Nomura's previous head of structuring in Asia was also educated at a Grande Ecole, but worked for a Swiss bank rather than a French one. Credit Suisse alum Clement Florentin held the role at Nomura for three years before leaving last November. He became head of structured partner solutions at Citadel Securities.
Nomura and BNP Paribas did not respond to a request for comment.
