Millennium poached the hot ex-Citi junior rates trader who was at Citadel

If you work on Citi's short term interest rate trading (STIRT) desk, you can become rich like Gary Stevenson. You can also leave and work for a hedge fund.

Ravi Vinda spent three years on Citi's London STIRT desk before leaving for Brevan Howard. He was at Brevan Howard for four years before leaving for Citadel. He only joined Citadel in July 2025.

We now understand that Vinda has moved again and is joining Millennium. Millennium declined to comment. Vinda didn't respond to a request to comment.

Vinda began his STIRT career in 2014 after graduating from the London School of Economics (like Stevenson). Millennium will be his third hedge fund employer since leaving Citi in 2021.

London macro headhunters complain that the talent pool has been depleted by hedge funds relentlessly posting banks' finest talent. Vinda is thought to be representative of the highly sought-after new generation. There are unconfirmed suggestions that he'll be managing a large portfolio at MLP.

Some macro funds have struggled in recent weeks amidst rising rates and concerns over French government debt. It's not clear how Vinda performed during this period, but presumably Millennium was impressed.
