The best recruiters for jobs in finance, risk, operations, or compliance

While much noise is made about the front office of an investment bank, where and who it hires, it’s a bank’s support functions – its finance, risk, operations, and compliance (FROC) professionals – who quietly keep the machine ticking in the background. Financial services firm know this, and the best FROCers are in high demand. But how do they find jobs?

That is where the 2026 eFinancialCareers Ideal Recruiter Report comes in. Based on a survey of over 7,500 financial services professionals that we held across the entirety of 2025, we asked people with experience in middle- and back-office support functions who they would trust to get them a job in the industry.

Selby Jennings, which was the financial services’ industry ideal recruiter in both investment banking and sales & trading, was also perceived as the ideal recruiter in support functions – which we define as FROC. The F in FROC, finance, here refers to functions such as audit, internal assurance, and control.

One audit professional said that Selby Jennings is “very strong” in his field, “with a solid global network and good understanding of specialized roles.”

Like in the last edition of the Ideal Recruiter report, it was London-based Barclay Simpson that came second. Barclay Simpson has a huge presence in London, especially in middle office roles – the firm itself discloses that it has “the largest risk recruitment team in the UK”, and also substantial compliance, audit, and assurance roles.

In third place was DHR Global, a Chicago-based recruiter with more than 60 offices around the world, including London, Paris, Hong Kong, and Singapore. “Excellent approach,” said one APAC finance professional, as well as “vision, mission, and execution.”
