RBC’s head of global equity sales left for a curious French stockbroker
Everyone in finance is climbing a ladder. Some people leave their company for a bigger one, with a bigger ladder; some people leave for a similar sized one offering them a step up. Sometimes, people leave for a much smaller one offering them a very big step up.

Pamela Addoh joined ODDO BHF in London last month to lead its global market sales team. Addoh left for Oddo from RBC Capital Markets, where she was head of both the global equity and us equity sales teams. She was at Deutsche Bank before that.
ODDO BHF is an odd place to go. Founded in the 60s by a Marseille-based stockbroker, it bought the German bank BHF back in 2016 and merged with it. ODDO BHF brought on Addoh specifically to grow its transatlantic business.
ODDO BHF has a number of businesses under its umbrella; asset and wealth management, investment banking (including equities, fixed income, and commodities) as well as general corporate banking and research. Its cash equity sales team specifically is part of a curious swap that it did with Natixis back in 2017, in which it acquired that team – as well as the trading team – from Natixis, in exchange for its equity capital markets team. The things we do for MIFID.
