Who exactly are Goldman Sachs' 109 new partners?

As of today, Goldman Sachs has some new partners. 109 of them, to be exact, an absolutely huge class - the biggest class since 2010, way up on the 95 it promoted in 2024, and way way up on the 80 it promoted in 2022.

Goldman Sachs’ partners are a by-product of when the firm was legally a partnership (it went public as a corporation in 1999), but there are very, very real perks attached. A salary of more than $1m, for example. A share of a special bonus pool. And the opportunity to invest in Goldman's own funds, which provide carried-interest style compensation. A lot of money. Plus David Solomon or John Waldron call you to tell you, which is fun.

62 of the firm's new partners are in the Americas, 27 are in EMEA, and 20 are in Asia. Around 40% of them joined the firm from university - lifers - and around 60% joined from a rival firm. The youngest, by our estimations, are around 34, and the oldest are in their mid-50s.

The most represented cities - in order - were New York (47 partners), London (22), and Hong Kong (9). India had just 2 employees named partner, fewer than Japan's 3, despite Goldman having 8,000 people in India, and around 1,000 in Japan.

But - without further ado - here is the Goldman Sachs Partner Class of 2026:

Vikas Agrawal - MD, Co-Head of Energy Transition and Climate, Private Credit
Also ran the bank's Alternative Energy Investing group for 17 years from 2006.

Raul Aldrey - MD, Global Head of Marcus Engineering
The least-tenured (at Goldman) person on the list. Came from Citi in only June 2025, so made partner after 17 months at the firm.

An Oxford physicist who joined straight from university in 2013. At about 35, she's one of the youngest partners in the class.

Craig Balenzuela - MD, Head of Australia & New Zealand Client Business, Asset Management
A late arrival from Australian state-backed fund manager QIC in 2022. Made partner within five years of walking through the door. Not bad.
