VP/Director, Data Product Management



About the Role

We are partnering with a leading investment bank that is investing heavily in AI, machine learning, and next-generation data products.

The firm is seeking an experienced Product Management leader to drive the strategy, development, and adoption of innovative data and research solutions. This individual will work closely with Research, Data Science, and Commercial teams to identify market opportunities, define product requirements, and bring new products and capabilities to market.

The role requires a unique combination of product management expertise, client engagement, and commercial acumen. The successful candidate will serve as the link between institutional clients and internal product teams, ensuring product development efforts align with evolving market needs.

Key Responsibilities



Product Strategy & Roadmap

• Define and execute product strategy for a suite of data, analytics, and research products.
• Develop and manage product roadmaps informed by client feedback, market trends, and business priorities.
• Partner with Research, Data Science, and Engineering teams to identify opportunities for new product development.
• Establish product requirements, prioritize features, and guide development efforts from concept through launch.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI and machine learning applications, to enhance product capabilities.

Product Development

• Translate client and market needs into clear business requirements and product specifications.
• Work closely with technical teams throughout the product lifecycle to ensure successful delivery.
• Serve as the primary business stakeholder for new product initiatives and enhancements.
• Define success metrics and monitor product adoption, engagement, and commercial performance.
• Drive continuous product improvement through user feedback and market analysis.

Client & Market Engagement

• Engage directly with institutional investors, research consumers, and strategic clients to understand workflows and evolving requirements.
• Gather market intelligence and client feedback to inform product strategy and prioritization.
• Act as a subject matter expert during strategic client meetings and product discussions.
• Support product launches, client education initiatives, and go-to-market activities.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Collaborate across Product, Research, Data Science, Commercial, and Senior Leadership teams.
• Drive alignment between product development objectives and broader business goals.
• Influence key stakeholders and help shape long-term product and data strategy.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Strategy, Data Products, Research Products, or Analytics Solutions.
• Experience owning product roadmaps and leading complex product development initiatives.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, investment research, market data, alternative data, or analytics products.
• Proven ability to gather user requirements and translate them into scalable product solutions.
• Experience working closely with Engineering, Data Science, Research, or Technology teams.
• Strong client-facing skills and experience engaging with institutional investors or enterprise clients.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
