Software Engineer | Chicago

A technology-driven proprietary trading firm in Chicago is looking for talented software engineers to join its core technology team. Technology sits at the center of the business, and engineers work directly on systems that support electronic trading, market data processing, and execution.

What You'll Work On

• Develop and enhance components of a high-performance trading platform
• Build systems for data analysis, algorithm development, and execution infrastructure
• Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reliable C++ applications in a Linux environment
• Collaborate closely with engineers and traders to solve complex technical problems

Ideal Background

• 4+ years of software engineering experience using C++, Java, C#, or similar languages
• At least 3 years of experience working with C++ and Linux/Unix environments strongly preferred
• Strong computer science fundamentals
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (particularly important for candidates with under 5 years of experience)
• Financial industry experience is helpful but not required

Compensation

• Base salary: $125,000 - $200,000
• Eligible for substantial discretionary bonus
