I'm working with a leading global life reinsurer seeking a Senior Manager / AVP to help develop and expand its Savings & Retirement business across Continental Europe.
This is a high-profile opportunity to combine technical actuarial expertise with client relationship management, transaction structuring and business development. You'll have the opportunity to shape the strategy for a growing European market, working closely with senior leadership and collaborating with colleagues internationally.
The Opportunity You'll play a leading role in identifying and developing reinsurance opportunities across Continental Europe, with a particular focus on longevity and asset-intensive solutions, including funded reinsurance.
Responsibilities will include:
• Developing relationships with European insurers, pension schemes, consultants, brokers and other key counterparties.

• Identifying new commercial opportunities and helping shape the European growth strategy.

• Leading the structuring, negotiation and execution of complex reinsurance transactions.

• Working closely with pricing, investments, capital and other specialist teams to develop innovative, tailored solutions.

• Overseeing transaction proposals, commercial terms and internal governance processes.

• Engaging with senior executives and contributing to wider global business initiatives.

• Mentoring a junior colleague and collaborating with international Client Solutions teams.


The position offers significant visibility with senior leadership and the opportunity to influence the development of the business across multiple European markets.
About You You'll be a fully qualified actuary with at least 5 years' post-qualification experience, combining strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness and excellent interpersonal skills.
We're particularly interested in candidates from the following backgrounds:
• Funded Reinsurance / Asset-Intensive Reinsurance: Experience structuring, pricing or executing funded reinsurance or related transactions.

• Life Insurance / Reinsurance: Backgrounds in BPA, pension risk transfer, longevity, capital solutions, pricing or reinsurance transactions.

• Actuarial Consulting: Experience advising on BPA/PRT transactions, longevity swaps, funded reinsurance, insurance transactions or pension de-risking.

• Asset Management / Insurance Solutions: Qualified actuaries with experience in ALM, asset structuring, insurance investment solutions or capital-efficient asset portfolios.

• European Pensions / Insurance Advisory: Actuaries with knowledge of Continental European pension schemes, insurance markets and risk transfer transactions.


Direct funded reinsurance experience would be particularly attractive, but it is not essential. We're open to individuals with transferable technical expertise and the ambition to move into a broader, more strategic and client-facing position.
You'll be commercially curious, an effective communicator and comfortable working with senior stakeholders to develop solutions to complex challenges.
