Paralegal/Support Lawyer (Capital Markets)
Who we are?

Linklaters is a global law firm, providing legal services in 20 countries and through 30 offices.

Role overview

We are seeking an experienced Paralegal/Support Lawyer with a strong Capital Markets background to join our team. The successful candidate will support a variety of transactions, working closely with lawyers, clients and external advisers to drive matters forward and manage critical deliverables. Experience in transaction management and wider Banking & Finance work would be beneficial. This role operates on a hybrid working model and requires regular attendance in the office.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the execution and management of a broad range of Capital Markets transactions, including debt and equity offerings, acting as a central point of coordination between legal teams, clients, counterparties and external advisers.
  • Assist with the preparation, review and management of transaction documentation, ensuring accuracy, consistency and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Coordinate transaction processes and manage key workstreams, monitoring progress against deadlines and escalating issues where necessary.
  • Support due diligence exercises, including reviewing, organising and summarising documentation and findings.
  • Prepare and maintain transaction checklists, closing agendas and conditions precedent trackers.
  • Coordinate signing and closing processes, ensuring all documentation is executed correctly and completion requirements are met.
  • Liaise with clients, financial institutions, exchanges, regulators and other stakeholders to facilitate the smooth progression of transactions.
  • Manage document execution, filing and post-completion matters, ensuring records are accurately maintained.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders regarding transaction status, key milestones, risks and next steps.
  • Contribute to know-how, precedent and process improvement initiatives within the Capital Markets and wider Banking practice.

Candidate requirements
    • LPC, SQE, law degree or equivalent legal qualification (including foreign-qualified lawyers).
    • At least two years' experience as a Paralegal or Support Lawyer within a leading law firm or in-house legal team, with a focus on Capital Markets transactions.
    • Experience supporting debt and/or equity capital markets matters, with exposure to transaction management and broader Banking & Finance work considered advantageous.
    • Strong understanding of transaction processes, legal documentation and the coordination of complex transactional matters.
    • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with lawyers, clients, financial institutions and external advisers.
    • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate multiple workstreams and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented, with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
    • Able to work independently, exercise sound judgement and take ownership of matters from initiation through to completion.
    • Ability to work on a hybrid basis, attending the office in line with team and business requirements.
