Domicile Leader - Captive & Insurance Management - Abu Dhabi

What the day will look like

As Domicile Leader, you will be responsible for establishing, leading and growing Aon's Captive & Insurance Management (ACIM) presence in Abu Dhabi, acting as the principal local representative of ACIM in the market. A typical day may include:

• Building Aon's captive management profile in Abu Dhabi, representing ACIM credibly with clients, prospects, regulators, advisors and industry stakeholders.
• Leading the day-to-day operations of the Abu Dhabi office to ensure disciplined execution, high-quality client service and adherence to agreed service standards.
• Monitoring local regulatory and market developments and translating insights into practical actions for clients, colleagues and the wider EMEA Hub.
• Personally leading selected senior client and prospect relationships where local credibility, trust and market knowledge are critical.
• Collaborating with colleagues across Commercial Risk, Reinsurance, Risk Capital and other Aon teams to deliver integrated captive and risk-financing solutions.
• Leading and developing colleagues in Abu Dhabi, setting the cultural tone and aligning objectives to office, Hub and ACIM priorities.
• Ensuring the office operates in accordance with the ACIM Risk Management Framework, Aon policies and relevant Abu Dhabi and UAE regulatory requirements.
• Working closely with the Hub Leader and other Domicile Leaders to align Abu Dhabi with Hub strategy, priorities and service delivery expectations.

• Lead a strategically important market for Aon, positioning Abu Dhabi as a compelling captive jurisdiction for regional and multinational clients.
• Have direct visibility with senior leaders across ACIM and the wider EMEA Hub, with access to deep technical expertise, operational support and scalable resources.
• Play a central role in developing Aon's relationships with local regulators and authorities, helping to shape the evolution of the captive market in Abu Dhabi.
• Work at the intersection of global risk-financing expertise and local market knowledge, collaborating with colleagues across multiple solution lines to deliver integrated client outcomes.
• Build and develop a high-performing local team and culture, with the autonomy to influence how the office grows over time while being supported by Aon's global platform.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

• Significant experience in captive management, insurance, brokerage, risk financing, consulting or a related regulated financial services environment, ideally with exposure to multinational clients or complex captive structures.
• Strong understanding of captives, risk financing concepts, insurance governance and the practical requirements of operating in a regulated jurisdiction.
• Proven ability to build relationships and external networks, and to represent an organization credibly with senior stakeholders, regulators, clients and market participants.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams, developing people and creating an inclusive, collaborative and accountable culture.
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder-management skills, with strong organisational, problem-solving and decision-making capability and the resilience to operate in a developing market.
• Experience in the Middle East, Abu Dhabi, the UAE or another developing financial services, insurance or captive jurisdiction, and/or a relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACII, CPCU, ACCA) would be an advantage.
