Job Title: Accountant

Location: Texas (Hybrid)

Salary: $90,000

Company Summary: A growing utility organization is seeking an Accountant to join its expanding finance team. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this individual will serve as a key accounting partner and play an instrumental role in building scalable processes, supporting month-end close, and strengthening the financial infrastructure of a rapidly growing business. This is a highly visible position offering the opportunity to work closely with executive leadership while contributing across both strategic and hands-on accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage key aspects of the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and analysis
• Support utility and regulatory accounting activities, including plant accounting, cost accounting, and compliance with industry-specific accounting requirements
• Maintain the general ledger and ERP system, while assisting with accounts payable, vendor transactions, and other day-to-day accounting operations
• Partner with leadership to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, support audits, and prepare reporting for operational and regulatory stakeholder

Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Prior experience within a utility, infrastructure, energy, construction or related industry environment
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills; experience with Spectrum/Viewpoint is highly preferred
• CPA designation or progress toward certification preferred, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
