An established international bank is seeking an experienced Wealth Planner to join its private banking business in Singapore.
Working closely with Relationship Managers, clients, trustees, insurance brokers and other professional advisers, the successful candidate will develop and implement wealth-planning solutions involving insurance, trusts and succession planning.
This is a client-facing and commercially focused role offering exposure to cross-border wealth structuring, platform management and business-development initiatives. The position will also support the continued development of the bank’s wealth-planning capabilities across its international private banking platform.
Key ResponsibilitiesWealth Planning Advisory
- Support Relationship Managers and private banking clients in developing appropriate wealth-planning structures.
- Assess clients’ succession, legacy, insurance and wealth-preservation needs.
- Provide guidance on insurance, trusts and other wealth-planning solutions.
- Work with trustees, insurance brokers, Relationship Managers and clients to facilitate the implementation of approved solutions.
- Support the referral of suitable business opportunities to the bank’s approved insurance brokers and trustees.
- Keep abreast of relevant legal, regulatory, tax, political and economic developments across key jurisdictions.
- Apply relevant market and regulatory developments when considering clients’ wealth-planning requirements.
- Ensure proposed solutions are aligned with clients’ objectives, suitability considerations and applicable regulations.
Business Development
- Contribute towards the achievement of the wealth-planning team’s sales and revenue targets.
- Partner with Relationship Managers to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations and wealth-planning discussions.
- Prepare client proposals, presentations and supporting materials.
- Build productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external professional advisers.
- Support senior management in tracking the business pipeline, revenue and transaction activity.
Insurance and Trust Platform Management
- Manage the wealth-planning platform covering insurance, trusts and succession-planning solutions.
- Conduct and maintain vendor due diligence reviews for insurance providers, trustees and other approved partners.
- Manage insurance-company limit applications and monitor counterparty exposure.
- Maintain records of successful trust referrals and completed wealth-planning cases.
- Administer the approval process for insurance premium-financing arrangements.
- Work with Credit and Relationship Managers on applications for premium-financing facilities.
- Ensure compliance with vendor due diligence requirements, internal policies and wealth-management procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation, management information and transaction records.
Training and Sales Enablement
- Conduct wealth-planning training for Relationship Managers and private banking team members.
- Strengthen frontline awareness of available insurance, trust and succession-planning solutions.
- Develop sales tools and educational materials to support client conversations.
- Share relevant market, regulatory and product developments with internal stakeholders.
- Help Relationship Managers identify suitable opportunities and position wealth-planning solutions effectively.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in wealth planning, insurance advisory, trust advisory, succession planning or a related field.
- Experience supporting high-net-worth or private banking clients is strongly preferred.
- Good understanding of insurance, trusts, legacy planning, succession planning and wealth-preservation solutions.
- Familiarity with the legal and regulatory considerations affecting clients across different jurisdictions.
- Experience working with trustees, insurance brokers, tax advisers, lawyers or other professional intermediaries.
- Commercially minded, with experience supporting sales, marketing or business-development initiatives.
- Strong presentation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Able to explain complex wealth-planning concepts clearly to clients and frontline bankers.
- Strong command of written and spoken English and Mandarin to support regional stakeholders and Mandarin-speaking clients.
- CACS certified, with the relevant CMFAS qualifications.
- A degree in Finance, Business, Law, Accounting or a related discipline would be advantageous.
