Our client is a prominent Asia-focused hedge fund manager with a strong regional footprint. The firm utilizes a diverse range of alternative investment strategies, leveraging deep local expertise and market access. They are seeking a Trading Assistant – Hedge Fund to join the team.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

1. Support Portfolio Managers with trade execution, order placement, market monitoring, and liquidity sourcing across APAC markets.
2. Manage the full trade lifecycle, including booking, confirmations, settlements, and complex reconciliations of trade, position, and cash breaks.
3. Monitor portfolio risk, daily P&L, and margin requirements while ensuring accurate and timely desk operations.
4. Act as a key liaison with prime brokers, clearers, middle office, and compliance teams, while identifying opportunities to automate processes and improve operational efficiency.

To be eligible for this role you will require:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline, with 5-8 years of experience in trade support, middle office, or trading assistant roles.
2. Strong understanding of APAC financial markets, with exposure to asset classes including FX, fixed income and rates, equities, credit, and commodities.
3. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with key Bloomberg functions for market analysis and trading support.
4. Intermediate knowledge of Python, VBA, or SQL, with the ability to develop tools and automate desk processes to improve operational efficiency.
