JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Being a member of the Database Engineering team, the Database Engineer role is an Oracle DBA who will provide database administrative support for all environments including Development, QA, client test, and our critical high availability production environment and DR Data Centers.
• Extensive knowledge on all aspects of Oracle database administration and the ability to support other database platforms including both Aurora PostgreSQL and MSSQL-Server.
• This DBA will have a high level of impact in the creation of new processes and solutions, while operating under established procedures and processes in a critically important Financial Services infrastructure environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Software installation and patching
• Database creation and configuration
• Support development, QA, PSE and Production environments using ServiceNow ticketing system
• Review production performance reports for variances from normal operation
• Maintain database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for critical production environments.
• Participate in root cause analysis for database issues.
• Supports database functions by crafting and coding utilities.
• Prepare users by conducting training; providing information; and resolving problems.
• Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
• Shared responsibility for off-hour support.
• Recommend and implement database backup, recovery, and redundancy strategies.
• lign risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
• Strong Oracle knowledge of 19c, 21c and 22c.
• Strong knowledge in MSSQL Server and Aurora Postgres database.
• Strong knowledge in Python and Angular.
• Working knowledge of Oracle's Goldengate Replication technology.
• Working knowledge of O/S and Disk Management, working knowledge with SQL.
• Hands on experience with Oracle RAC and OEM Grid Control/Cloud Control.
• Hands on experience in python, Ansible and other scripting languages to automate the tasks.
• bility to work with a high degree of latitude while adhering to established process and procedures.
• Strong understanding in both how databases fit into systems and how application changes will influence database performance.

Must have:

• Hands on experience in Oracle 19c, 21c and 22c, MS-SQL and Postgres.
• This is for 24/7 Production Support.
• Flexible to work in rotational shifts and weekends.
• Goldengate - Theoretical knowledge also fine.
• Basic knowledge in Python .
