Position Description

The Head of Sales Trading leads the team that is responsible for trading stocks on behalf of our institutional clients. This person is responsible for leading the team to further develop client relationships with both local and foreign institutional accounts and hedge funds, in an effort to maximize revenues. It typically involves working closely with the client’s investment personnel, updating promptly on market news, events and themes as well as advising clients on trading strategies & solutions to achieve best execution. The Head should have strong managerial skills to be able to identify the strength of each team member and leverage it efficiently and effectively to provide a cohesive service level to our clients. We are looking for driven individuals in a high energy, high paced environment that emphasizes working together as team.

The role will also require working closely with our global execution teams, sales & research to look for cross-selling opportunities within the group in order to leverage product penetration and revenue with the existing and potential client base.

The Head will also be expected to take on the regulatory role of Head of Dealing, as per guidelines issued by Securities Commission in Malaysia.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

1. Increase revenues, ranking and market share.
2. Maintain and strengthen existing client relationships, while seeking to initiate new client relationships with existing, new or dormant accounts.
3. Manage and monitor client’s orders as per instructions, with the aim of providing the best execution possible, within the parameters set by the client.
4. Ensure that Overnight and Live orders are executed accurately, and provide guidance to dealing staff where necessary.
5. Inform Regional Head of Sales Trading of any errors or discrepancies, possible disrupts with clients and/or a change of coverage that would be beneficial to maximising client relationship.
6. Building sound relationships with Sales Traders in overseas offices and with Salespeople to create a flow for the exchange of information and ideas.
7. Attend and participate in the morning meetings where possible.
8. Ensure the integrity and use of CIS as part of the sales trading process.

Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Accounting or related disciplines
2. Experience in the industry at the minimum of 10 years
3. Candidates with the requisite knowledge and looking to step up into a leadership role encouraged to apply
4. Leadership experience and team management skills preferred
5. Strong comprehension and communication skills
6. Entrepreneurial focused individual with a “client-service” driven mentality
7. Strong knowledge of market products and exchange regulations
8. Interest in equity and financial markets
9. Strong demonstrated ability to adapt to new systems and technology
10. Strong organizational skills
11. Previously or currently holding relevant regulatory licenses
12. Excellent command of both spoken and written English.
