Joining a premier global financial services firm spanning over 30 countries across the Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Americas, this Hong Kong-based Vice President role within the Financial Control Division offers a high-impact leadership opportunity bridging elite global markets, investment banking, and asset management. You will oversee the financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and modernization of our Hong Kong and China corporate entities. This strategic position tasks you with spearheading process optimization, leading cross-border teams, and driving digital transformation—including AI-driven automation and Power BI data visualization—across the AEJ region.
The successful candidate will take full ownership of the financial and regulatory reporting lifecycle, directing and signing off on monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for Hong Kong and China entities under both US GAAP and IFRS. Acting as the primary regulatory anchor, you will supervise the end-to-end HK SFC Financial Resources Rules (FRR) reporting process while deploying expert technical knowledge to manage complex group consolidations, evaluate new product accounting requests, and implement emerging accounting standards. Beyond core production, this leadership position drives regional change, maintaining a robust control framework while managing the annual budgeting process, directing internal and external audit engagements, and mentoring a high-performing onshore team in Hong Kong alongside a dedicated offshore shared-services division in India.
This role requires a degree in Finance/Accounting, a professional qualification (CPA, CA, or equivalent), and a minimum of 12 years of progressive financial and management accounting experience within global banking, ideally with a foundational Big Four background. Candidates must possess deep knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, complex group consolidations, and a proven track record handling HK SFC FRR returns. Advanced Excel capabilities and exposure to data analytics tools are essential. We seek a strategic leader with an entrepreneurial mindset who can foster a proactive risk culture, formulate clear action plans, and navigate high-pressure deadlines.
