Our client is a well-established Hong Kong-based Single Family Office (SFO) dedicated to managing the investments, financial affairs, and operations of a private family. The office operates with a lean, high-performing team and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of governance, regulatory compliance, confidentiality, and operational excellence.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Operations & Compliance Manager to join their team.
The RoleReporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Operations & Compliance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the firm's operational infrastructure, governance framework, compliance obligations, and financial administration. This role serves as the central control function of the office, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while maintaining compliance with Hong Kong Single Family Office regulatory and tax concession requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure ongoing compliance with Hong Kong Single Family Office regulatory and tax concession requirements.
- Maintain robust governance, AML, and operational control frameworks.
- Manage corporate records, statutory filings, board documentation, and regulatory reporting.
- Coordinate with external auditors, legal counsel, tax advisors, and company secretaries.
- Oversee regulatory documentation, record retention, and information security.
- Oversee daily operational activities and vendor relationships.
- Monitor budgets, expenses, bookkeeping, and financial administration processes.
- Ensure accurate transaction processing, approvals, reconciliations, and documentation.
- Manage trade support, position reconciliations, and post-trade confirmations.
- Prepare management reports, dashboards, and operational updates for senior stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary contact for banks, financial institutions, and external service providers.
- Manage relationships with auditors, accountants, legal advisors, and tax consultants.
- Coordinate onboarding, offboarding, payroll, MPF administration, and employment documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Hong Kong employment regulations and HR record-keeping requirements.
- Support senior management and the Board on operational, governance, and administrative matters.
- Assist with investment transaction execution, documentation, and counterparty coordination.
- Maintain centralized investment records and support investment reporting activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in operations, compliance, finance, governance, or administration within a family office, investment firm, asset manager, private office, or financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of Hong Kong regulatory requirements, corporate governance, AML, and compliance best practices.
- Experience coordinating with auditors, company secretaries, legal advisors, tax consultants, and financial institutions.
- Familiarity with investment operations, trade support, and financial reporting processes is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and documentation standards.
- Ability to work independently within a lean and entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential information.
