Main Responsibilities
Business Engagement & Automation (SME)
- Partner closely with Equity Traders and Sales desks in Hong Kong to understand daily operational workflows and business growth plans.
- Proactively design, propose, and implement automation solutions and enhancements to existing tools to drive trading efficiency.
Full-Stack Agile Delivery
- Own the end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC), from initial requirement gathering and architectural design to implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Adhere to and promote IT best practices, ensuring the delivery of highly secure, scalable, and resilient trading systems.
Front Office Support
- Provide high-touch, first-line support to the trading floor, ensuring rapid resolution of business-critical and time-sensitive issues.
Strategic Architecture
- Collaborate with regional peers across Asia and global central teams in Europe to streamline, consolidate, and modernize the Front Office technical ecosystem into a cohesive, high-performance platform.
Innovation & Tech Adoption
- Champion the integration of AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) within the daily development workflow to accelerate delivery speed, optimize code safety, and elevate software quality.
Technical experience
- Back-End: Advanced proficiency in Python and C# for web service APIs and general back-end software development.
- Front-End: Advanced proficiency in React.js and JavaScript to build intuitive user interfaces.
- Legacy Migration: Strong background in VBA Excel, with the ability to reverse-engineer, read, and translate legacy algorithms into modern tech stacks.
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) is highly advantageous.
Product experience
- Financial Instruments: Solid basic knowledge of equities and derivatives, including Stocks, Indices, Options, Futures, Swaps, and Bonds.
- Market Knowledge: Good understanding of traditional Equity Global Markets businesses, financial product lifecycles, and associated cash flows.
- Risk & Analytics: Basic understanding of Risk Management concepts and P&L calculations.
Soft Skills
- Front Office Mindset: Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing requests from demanding users (Traders/Sales).
- Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts succinctly to a non-technical business audience.
- Language: Fluency in English is mandatory (French or other regional languages are a plus but not required).
