Databricks Platform Consultant
DWS is seeking an experienced Databricks Platform Consultant to join an data and analytics optimisation POC initiative. This role is ideally suited to a hands-on Databricks Engineer who can combine strong platform expertise with exceptional stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and consulting Tech BA skills. You will help shape and optimise modern data platforms while working closely with technical and business stakeholders to deliver practical, scalable and efficient outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Work across Databricks platform optimisation, implementation and assessment activities within large-scale data and analytics environments.
- Lead workshops and engage directly with stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into platform solutions.
- Document requirements, user stories, business processes, functional designs and implementation artefacts where required.
- Develop business workshop materials, process flows, requirements definitions, security classifications, traceability matrices and integration specifications.
- Provide expertise across Microsoft Azure and Azure Databricks, including data, integration, storage, security and analytics services.
- Elicit, analyse and document technical and non-functional requirements including security, access management, networking, connectivity, governance, operational support, scalability, performance and cost management.
- Contribute to data ingestion, integration, reporting and analytics solutions, including Power BI integration considerations.
- Analyse existing data platforms and contribute to target-state architectures, data flows, migration approaches and implementation roadmaps.
- Consider data lineage, mapping, performance optimisation, platform costs and implementation options when developing recommendations.
- Provide regular project status updates, highlighting progress, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies and decisions required.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, analysts, SMEs and platform stakeholders to define and deliver successful outcomes.
