DBS just made an MD-level hire in an expanding team.

HSBC and Westpac veteran takes top job at DBS

DBS has appointed Sneha Sanghvi from Westpac as head of institutional investors, FIG (financial institutions group).

She joined Singapore’s largest lender last month at managing director level, working in the firm’s institutional banking group, according to her LinkedIn profile.

The FIG team at DBS appears to be in expansion mode. In a LinkedIn post earlier this month, Sanghvi noted that her new bank is hiring for an AVP-level role in financial institutions to “cover digital asset clients across DBS’s key core markets”.

Sanghvi previously spent about seven years at Westpac in Singapore, initially as head of financial markets for Asia, before stepping into a transformation-lead role for financial markets last year.

The Oxford graduate started her career in 1998 with a nine-year stint at HSBC, latterly as a Hong Kong based regional head of structured rates. She was at Morgan Stanley in Singapore from 2007 to 2012, most recently as an MD and head of fixed income sales for South East Asia. Prior to Westpac, Sanghvi was finance director, global commodities, chemicals and ingredients, at Unilever Asia.
