The Challenge:

Everyone is trying to harness the power of the Cloud, but not everyone knows how. As a Cloud architect, you know how to build a Cloud-based technical architecture that meets customer needs and takes advantage of Cloud capabilities. What if you could use your Cloud architecture skills to improve warfighter communications and edge processing capabilities. We need you to help us develop Cloud-based solutions to some of the Air Force's toughest challenges.

As a Cloud architect on our team, youll design a secure, Cloud-based communications networks to support mission-critical operations. Youll recommend tools and capabilities based on your research of the current environment and knowledge of various on-premise, Cloud-based, and hybrid resources. Youll lead your team as they help the customer overcome their most difficult challenges in the Cloud. Your technical expertise will be vital as you work with AF Domain experts to ensure standards are met throughout the Cloud migration process. This is an opportunity to use the latest Cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your customers environment using current Cloud capabilities. Youll be able to sharpen your skills in automation, Cloud-based security, Cloud networking, edge processing while developing critical systems for the Air Force and its mission partners. As a technical leader, youll identify new opportunities to build Cloud-based solutions to help your customers meet their evolving needs. You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud-native development
  • Experience as a J2EE developer, including Cloud expertise
  • Experience with Cloud development, automated testing, continuous integration, and continuous deployment and Amazon Web Services, including the Snowball family of products
  • Experience with tools and components that include Jmeter, Nexus IQ, Maven, or Sonarcube
  • Experience with leading or working as part of an Agile development team
  • Experience in production systems and dealing with production issues
  • Knowledge of Cloud service and deployment models
  • Ability to design, build and deploy Cloud-based applications
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • BA or BS degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience with Chef, Puppet, BOSH, or related automation or orchestration tools
  • Experience with a platform as a service product, including Cloud Foundry, Heroku, Elastic Beanstalk, or similar
  • Experience in working with DNS, NTP, SAML, oAuth 2, or Active Directory
  • Experience with Windows deployment, automation, and related technologies
  • Experience with a database, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MSSQL and messaging middleware technologies, including RabbitMQ
  • Knowledge of systems monitoring, alerting and analytics, including NewRelic, AppDynamics, Cacti, Graphite, Logstash, Nagios, Ganglia, Splunk, vROPS, or Datadog
  • Knowledge of Linux or UNIX systems
  • Active Secret clearance
  • AWS Certifications a plus
