Supports the quantitative and analytical requirements of Risk function, in the form of insurance risk management, business plan stress testing, capital management and other analytical risk activities.
Responsibilities: - Lead initiative to improve overall management of insurance risk through design of risk dashboards, underwriting/product risk reviews, and development of new risk policies and governance processes.
- Design annual and quarterly process for monitoring performance against business plan.
- Identify top insurance risks across AP and put together agenda to review, assess, and implement actions to manage exposures.
- Develop insurance risk management policies, including new processes and procedures.
- Conduct annual and quarterly business plan stress testing.
- Review impact of solvency regulations on country operations.
- Monitor and stress test capital positions.
- Ensure risk exposures captured and managed within risk management framework.
- Support other Risk function activities such as strategic planning as necessary.
- Close engagement with relevant stakeholders at the regional and country operations levels in order to understand key risks and to facilitate change management to embed risk framework.
- Influence stakeholders to adopt new risk management approaches and policies.
- Effective challenge of first line activities, approaches, or policies to improve risk environment.
- Work closely with stakeholders in other departments including finance, actuarial, underwriting and claims to understand, review, assess, and influence change on technical matters.
- Quantitative modeling of impact of stresses and scenarios on business results and capital.
- Develop quantitative and qualitative criteria to determine risk rating for insurance risks.
- Manage business plan stress testing and capital management models.
- Training of local risk managers on insurance risk, business planning and capital management.
- Collaborate and share knowledge with regional risk and compliance team to operate risk management strategy and improve understanding of insurance risk and risk analytics across team.
Requirement: - 10+ years of experience in general insurance industry working in the above areas.
- Deep understanding of top risks in general insurance business.
- Approaches in measuring insurance risk exposure for general insurance company.
- Ability to identify key risk indicators and other risk measurement techniques.
- Preparation of risk dashboards and reports on insurance risk.
- Business plan stress testing and capital management
