Software Support Engineer
Job Description:
Responsibilities:
  • Provides maintenance, fixes and tuning to applications and keep them performing according to technical and functional specifications
  • Provides system/application functional support
  • Applies subject matter knowledge, experience to provide analysis and solve common and complex system/application issues
  • Work with and manage third-party vendors to deliver the fix within the timelines and SLA
  • Provides support to user on Functional Acceptance Testing
  • Analyzes and document user requirements or problem statements
  • Follows established Incident and Problem Management processes to support the systems
  • Follows established Change Management process to implement applications and changes
  • Documents and maintains all work products from initial phase of development till implementation
  • Follows and complies to established guidelines, delivery processes and policies
  • Adhere and support Service Level Agreement (SLA)

Qualifications/Experience:
  • 4 to 5 years of working experience in systems development & support preferably in banking applications
  • Experience with Payment and Cheque Processing & Clearing System
  • Experience and good understanding of RDBMS

Desirable Skills:
  • Conversant in Software Development Life Cycle
  • Business knowledge of banking products and banking system support experience
  • Ability to apply subject matter knowledge and previous experience to solve a variety of common system and application functional issues.
  • Ability to integrate technical and application components to meet business requirements
  • Knowledge and experience of using tools to analyze, resolving the system incidents
  • Good in problem solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in maintenance and support of business critical banking applications and with strong understanding of support SLA
  • Understand modern software development processes, methodologies and tools

Special Requirements:
  • On-call standby or on-site Production Support during major system rollout or implementation
  • Meeting with customer or working at client's premise (Kuala Lumpur)
