Primary Objective/Purpose of the Job

The incumbent will be the key contact point for employees and managers for the assigned geographies and will provide consultation and advice on HR and organization issues and initiatives. Including the formulation of options, and to build, plan and execute agreed option.

To be successful, incumbent should thrive on challenging the status quo, driving collaboration and alignment and be able to leverage corporate and regional resources and guidance to deliver valued added local solutions and services. This role is also responsible for maintaining local and corporate compliance requirements, communicating and relating local country HR policies, procedures, programs and initiatives to corporate and regional functional leaders and counterparts.

Key stakeholders includes business unit leaders and managers and corporate functions team.

Responsibilities

HR Operations
  • Regularly review and consolidate HR policies and procedures in respect to changes with organization and/or legal and regulatory requirements in the area on employment and related discipline
  • Lead Talent acquisition activities for Malaysia, Singapore and Sri Lanka
  • Oversee full employee lifecycle HR service delivery
  • Compensation: implement corporate program and process, and develop complementing local guideline as needed
  • Benefits administration
  • Workforce Planning
  • Support country leadership in defining development needs and recommend options
  • Manage and assist with the resolution of employee relations issues, support case investigation, make resolution recommendations and propose and implement mitigation plan
  • Employment record maintenance
  • Accountable for regulatory compliance
  • Support HR projects as assigned
  • Ongoing process review and improvement

Business Partnering
  • Collaborate with the leaders in all aspects of people and workplace agenda to drive team members performance, engagement and organization success
  • Identify talent acquisition, development, performance and retention needs, recommending options and implementations
  • Utilize data and analytics to inform key business decisions
  • Develop and support change management activities and ensure organizational design and effectiveness are aligned to corporate and country business strategy, culture, and performance goals
  • Partner within the business to drive culture, employee experience, engagement and future of work design
  • Develop thoughtful, integrated approaches to promote diversity and inclusion in all facets of HR programs and processes

Corporate & Regional Programs
  • Accountable for the effective implementation of corporate and regional programs, process and tools
  • Translate global and regional initiatives to local relevant tools and process
  • Appreciate the value of global consistence and alignment and at the same time, resourceful and solution driven on local variations and requirements
  • Support country leaders on the implementation of global succession planning tools and process
  • Collaborate across the HR Operating Model (Centres of Excellence and Shared Services Centre) to articulate business needs and partner in delivering solutions in ways that bring value across the enterprise
  • Proactively transition work within the HR Operating Model

Knowledge and Skill Required
  • Balance planning and strategizing with hands-on, practical application
  • Experience of working in, or with, HR Shared Services
  • Comfortable of operating in a highly dynamic market, leading through ambiguity, and able to stay focused in times of change
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation and problem solving skills
  • Working application of Asia countries employment law
  • Strong solution-orientation and pragmatic approach
  • Ability to work across cultures and engage teams of dispersed people
  • Be an effective and collaborative leader, comfortable operating in a fast pace environment and capable of building consensus and trusting relationship with diverse organization group
  • Experience in leading change management efforts including defining change and communication plans
  • Strong communication skills, and business fluency in written and spoken English
  • Good team player

Experience
  • 5-7 years relevant and hands-on experience gained in a regional Human Resources capacity with sizable and fast growing organization, preferably in MNC or large corporation, and familiar working in a matrixed environment
  • Experience in a technology organization would be highly desirable

Education
  • Degree holder in Human Resources Management or any other related disciplines
