Senior HR Manager (Regional)

Based in Malaysia, Bangsar South

Our client is Young Telecom services business. Offices in APAC region with over 300 people in the respective countries

Reporting to the COO and dotted line to the CEO

Job Description:

  • Leadership and Strategy: Provide strategic leadership and direction for the HR function across multiple business units within the group, in support of overall company objectives and values.
  • HR Operations Management: Oversee and manage all aspects of HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, compensation and benefits, training and employee development, and HRIS administration Policy Development and Implementation: Develop, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs that promote effective utilization and maximum development of human resources, in compliance with relevant laws and regulations, as well as industry best practices. Ensure consistent application and adherence to policies across the organization.
  • Talent Acquisition and Management: Develop and execute effective talent acquisition strategies to attract, select, and onboard top talent. Implement processes for talent management, succession planning, and career development to promote a stable organizational pipeline.
  • Employee Relations and Engagement: Foster a positive work culture and employee engagement by promoting open communication, fair and timely conflict resolution, and implementing initiatives to enhance employee morale and satisfaction.
  • Performance Management: Develop and administer performance management systems and processes to set goals, provide feedback, evaluate performance, and identify areas for improvement. Ensure fair and objective performance evaluations and discussions leading to actionable
  • Compensation and Benefits: Design and implement a competitive compensation and benefits programs to attract, retain, and motivate employees. Conduct regular benchmarking and analysis to ensure competitiveness in the market balancing company goals and capabilities.
  • HR Analytics and Reporting: Utilize HR data and analytics to provide insights and recommendations for informed decision-making. Generate regular reports on key HR metrics and trends to assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives and inform strategic planning.
  • Legal Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in employment laws and regulations and ensure compliance with relevant legislation. Provide guidance and support to management and employees on HR-related legal matters.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external HR vendors, such as recruitment agencies, training providers, payroll vendors, or outsource partners. Evaluate vendor and partner performance and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality of services.
  • Change Management: Lead change management initiatives and support organizational change efforts by communicating effectively with stakeholders, managing resistance, and facilitating smooth transitions.
  • Budget and Cost Management: Develop and manage the HR budget, allocating resources effectively to support HR initiatives and meet organizational goals. Initiate and implement programs and measures to drive HR cost-efficiencies, including policy and process reviews and improvements, adoption of relevant HR tech and outsourcing models.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD) preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role. Regional Experience will be an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in managing HR functions across multiple business units and across different countries.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office applications.
