Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, operational, credit, pension, insurance, compliance, regulatory, market, reputation and geopolitical risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Manager, Risk Identification & Policy.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Manages, plans and directs the activities of the Risk Identification function (RID) in respect of the country's corporate lending portfolio.
  • Dynamically manage the RID watch list in line with changes in risk profile, and to timely highlight those "at risk" relationships and work closely with the Line management to minimize potential loss to the bank
  • Contribute towards reducing the credit risk and improving asset quality of the bank's corporate advances.
  • Maintain and enhance working relationship with frontline with an objective to strengthen credit quality and improve overall effectiveness against handling of potential problem accounts


Qualifications
Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years experience in lending in corporate/commercial banking with at least 5 years at executive level.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and managerial skills are required.
  • Knowledge of HSBC's Values and Credit Policies and the Group's risk monitoring framework and norms.
  • Working across all levels of the Bank to understand cross-functional linkages and interdependencies as well as the implications of risk at strategic level and business unit level.
  • Able to negotiate and interact effectively at middle and senior management levels. Good communication and interpersonal skills, including capacity to articulate risk issues.
