RPG Backend Developer
As an RPG programmer, create or enhance software and programs using RPG (Report Program Generator), a specialized coding language developed by IBM.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, integrate and test new changes in application.
- Provide application solutions and design order to achieve delivery excellence.
- Complete the assigned development tasks on time with high quality, adhering to application development standards.
- Provide documentation on program developed.
- Provide first level support to application issue reported by clients and resolve them within defined service level.
- Analyze root cause, assess impact and provide solution and recovery including program fixes and data correction.
- Provide test scenario, test cases and perform testing of application to ensure high level of quality
- Provide progress updates, conduct internal training and knowledge sharing with peers regularly
RPG Developer Skills & Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in computer science
- 5 to 10 years’ experience RPGLE/CLLE developer.
- Good analytical & troubleshooting skill.
- Ability to comprehend the requirement given.
- Provide high quality delivery.
- Knowledge of programming practices and techniques, especially in designing, coding, testing and debugging applications, including the ability to write code that is efficient, easy to read and maintainable.
- Proven understanding of relational database concepts and principles
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
