GSG Country Head
Job Purpose:
  • Revenue Managed: US$85MM
  • Headcount Managed: a team of 15
  • Management, growth and development of the GSG business within the country, providing a balanced risk/reward framework to encourage business growth.
  • Build / maintain a best in class GSG coverage team.
  • Foster innovation, in particular through initiatives originated within the country team.
  • Provide strategic content, translating vision into clear strategic priorities to build competitive strengths.
  • Foster and leverage relationships inside and outside the organization, identifying the different stakeholders that could impact the GSG organization, building networks that go beyond strictly business related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing delivery of the network by providing a consistent coverage approach to our Multi-national Corporate clients through liaising with Banking partners, providing 'network' forums to facilitate communication, and ensuring product partner connectivity across Citi
  • Talent brokerage / retention strategy: Identify HIPOs and promote talent cross-fertilization. Undertake different initiatives delegating them to key individuals, adding valued content to their existing responsibilities
  • Implement a management discipline based on relevant key drivers and metrics to boost the growth of the business, conducting formal and informal performance evaluations to provide adequate guidance and feedback, resulting in adaptation of strategies, as necessary
  • Agree with PAMs, RAMs and Product Partners, the future vision, agree the trend and direction to be given to each product within the GSG space, assigning priorities and developing communication campaigns, making sure those definitions are shared / owned by the individual RMs and unit heads
  • Maximize deal origination and replication around network solutions
  • Assist the Bankers & RMs with assessing and better understanding the client's needs
  • Maximize returns from this group's assets (regardless of industry) ensuring proper tradeoffs are being made between those assets
  • Become the designated senior calling officer for selected multinational clients who are intensive users of our global network
  • Maintain continuing awareness of and compliance with the bank's credit policies and regulatory requirements, and maintain the highest standards of risk management in providing credit approvals. Manage credit allocations as required
  • Implement calling plans to ensure business development is pursued across the client base
  • Develop and execute business which optimally leverages Bank resources
  • Manage client's expectations and effectively engage in difficult discussions with clients. Provide leadership, support and guidance to the team of Bankers & RMs
  • Engage in strategic dialogue with the client's senior management, opening access to the highest levels of their organization
  • Nurture existing client relationships to become a Trusted Advisor
  • Partner with other parts of the bank to drive overall client satisfaction, cross sell wherever possible, to build client loyalty within one-Citi, and respond to client escalation issues
  • Know the competition and be able to provide critical input to win transactions
