Chapter Lead - Data analyst (Data & Analytics Tribe)
About the Role
SWIFT's Data and Analytics Tribe is in charge of the development of the Data products and services delivered to SWIFT customers (Know Your Customer, SWIFT Reference data and Business Intelligence solutions). These tools provide distinctive input for decision making to customers globally.
As a Chapter Lead, you have the opportunity to build and maintain a team of talented data analysts and data scientists in the Data & Analytics Tribe. You will be responsible for the staffing of your chapter, act as a coach, building and developing your chapter members, understanding and identifying their development needs as well as organizing the resource allocation of chapter members to squads and orchestrate the performance of the chapter.
As a squad member, you also contribute to a squad (50% of time). Key tasks linked to this position include ensuring the delivery and quality of data science models through API, investigating business trends and their impact on customers' activities

  • Work with the Product Owners and the Tribe Leads to organise the chapter member assignment in squads
  • Set annual objectives and conduct mid-year review and year-end performance appraisal of chapter members
  • Lead data analysis projects, from customer requirements collection, stakeholders involvement, up to delivery and feedback gathering
  • Build reliable data science solutions to solve customer's problem
  • Collaborate with engineers to design and operate scalable ML platform
  • Validate the quality and relevance of the extracted data by identifying, analysing, and interpreting trends or patterns in complex datasets
  • Deliver value-added actionable insights to stakeholders, as enabler for informed decision making
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve or automate processes, procedures or tools
  • Follow market trends, how they are reflected through SWIFT data and their impact for SWIFT and our customers
  • Initiate and encourage effective teamwork across different teams within SWIFT

Education
University degree in Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics
Experience
8-12 years' experience in a similar Data Scientist role.
Professional experience and skills
  • Track record of managing a team (3 persons or more)
  • Team player with coaching skills and servant leadership qualities
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse and visualise significant amount of information coming from different data sources with attention to details and accuracy
  • Strong understanding and experience in applying statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, K-Nearest Neighbor, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, clustering, etc.
  • Experience in deploying solution to production and comfortable with concepts of DevOps, MLOps, CI/CD, API
  • Proven working experience with at least one Business Intelligence tool like MicroStrategy, Tableau or Power BI
  • Strong experience with databases (e.g. Oracle) and data tools (e.g. SQL, Python, Pandas, C3.AI, scikit-learn, etc.)
  • Good intellect with a passion for understanding customers and flexible to handle various requests
  • Strong problem solving skills - analytical, creative and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in English (oral and written)
  • Experience in the financial industry is a plus
