Key objectives

• In order to deploy, support, and function as a lead technical subject matter expert for infrastructure and systems based on Unix, one must be able to provide advanced technical counsel.

Key responsibilities:

• Assisting with the design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of the company's AIX and Solaris operating systems, as well as related technologies like VIOS, SR-IOV Virtualisation, PowerHA Clustering, and Scripting, as the deep Subject Matter Expert (SME).
• As a level 3 SME, you should troubleshoot and fix problems with the AIX and Solaris systems, such as system crashes, performance problems, software bugs, and security flaws.
• Act as a technical escalation point and SME for technologies and environments based on Unix.
• The AIX and Solaris systems' performance should be monitored, and any necessary performance adjustment should be applied.

To qualify an individual must possess:

• Comprehensive knowledge of AIX system administration, user administration, file/directory permissions, LVM, software and system patch management, TCP/IP ideas, NFS, NIS, DNS, storage concepts, and performance optimisation.
• Good working knowledge of Azure Linux server migrations and management, PowerVM/VIOS server, HMC, Virtualisation, LPM, NPIV, SAN-attached storage, NIM (Network Installation Manager), GPFS clusters, and Skytap server.
• Knowledge of Informix, DB2, Control-M, WAS, Weblogic, Networker, and Oracle/Oracle RAC databases in the AIX environment is advantageous.
