Aon is currently recruiting a Vice President, Broking to join our team in Penang, Malaysia .

Responsibilities: Responsible for the achievement of the department's financial goals, revenue growth targets, operational excellence, client retention and coaching and upscaling the skill of the team members.
- Implement and cascade all best practices that are rolled out to ensure compliances by the team, whether it's the company's internal policies and procedures or the local insurance regulatory requirements at all times
- Ensure that all Operational Excellence requirements of the company are properly communicated and practised by the team members
- Accountable in procuring and securing new businesses through own initiatives and market planning, be it cold leads or warm leads or through cross selling or upselling from existing portfolio of clients with proper review, planning, identification and strategizing the growth & penetration opportunities ie having an effective sales and business plan focusing on revenue growth
- Provide regular update to superior on targeted prospects and activities undertaken in securing and winning the account
- Develop and inculcate Aon United team spirit and render assistance to others when approached or reach out to others for support when help is needed
- Ensure that the superior is kept informed of all pertinent issues or problems and proposed solutions to resolve issues or problems and to reach out for discussion when in doubt or where guidance is required
- Monitor, guide and counsel all team members and provide on the job training to upgrade their knowledge and skills
- Ensure optimum cover is provided to clients at best possible terms and conditions from markets
- Lead and monitor day to day operations and ensure client's insurance requirements and needs are handled efficiently and competently
- Delegate work to subordinates and supervise assigned tasks
- Ensure prompt preparation and submission of all required monthly reports/updates/responses that are scheduled or on ad-hoc basis
- Actively involved in non-routine and complex claims and where further resources are required, to reach out to superior or claims leader for assistance
- Responsible for client retention and organic growth
- Review client files regularly, analyze and identify scope of cover required and check adequacy of existing cover
- Ensure all documentation is appropriately filed and in accordance with the company's filing protocol
- Develop and prepare underwriting specifications, proposal, insurance summaries/slips and ensure that all quotations, insurance summaries and billings are correct and complete before releasing to insurer and clients/prospects
- Respond to non-routine and complex enquiries independently and to discuss with superior if in doubt
- Follow-up with insurers on policy documents, check policy to ensure it matches with the coverage confirmed to client, notify insurer of any discrepancies and follow-up on their amendment
- Make clients aware of the premium warranty due date and cash-before-cover regulations and closely follow-up with clients on premium collections
- Ensure that all required compulsory training for self and the team are fully completed within given deadlines
- To take on any new initiatives or additional responsibilities that may become necessary to support the company's growth agenda or operational excellence
- Establish and/or maintain strong partnership with markets to secure best available terms in insurance placements
- Effective communications with clients, markets and colleagues including with local authority or regulators
- Timely actions on all broking duties and not limited to preparation of reports, proposals, presentations, trouble shooting, collections, compliances, operational KPIs, issuance of broking slips, billings, checking of policies & etc
- Strong technical skills on all general classes of insurance
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills, proactiveness and Aon United team spirit
- Leading, coaching and guiding team members in the execution of their duties and responsibilities
- Any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time
Requirements - Degree in insurance or any relevant qualifications
- With at least 10 years working experience in the broking/insurance industry
- Able to use Microsoft Work, Excel & Power Point
