Sales Support Manager
Department overview:

Lead Sales Support teams who support the sales teams, including, but not limited to, contract generation, assisting in renewal processes, usage of Sales Force Automation, Vanguard, Business Objects and SAP Valid Order Package processes and general administrative support. Responsible for making enhancement recommendations on processes to streamline workflows. Participation in Vanguard project meetings acting as the Subject Matter Expert in behalf of the Sales Operations Coordinator team(s). And well versed working in multiple business lines for sales support.

Position summary

Directly manages the performance of a functional or regional department. Recommends operational changes that increase efficiencies and / or information quality and implements solutions. Recommends personnel administrative changes. Provide sales support for multiple business lines across the assigned sales teams on behalf of the Sales Operations Sales Support. Leveraging extensive knowledge related to departments and functions to discern gaps and devising solutions

Your Role
  • Responsible for providing support and administrative coordination on the sales/renewal process for Sales teams, including Sales Management.
  • Able to discuss and explain contractual guidelines of I H S Markit products with account managers, finance, product managers, product delivery, sales operations in an accurate and organized manner.
  • Assist in preparation and distribution for client legal agreements, attachments, proposals, purchase orders and business correspondence as required.
  • Process signed and executed renewal contracts in Sales Force Automation system and liase with sales operations.
  • Process product or service cancellations. Create cancellation forms and route to appropriate internal product group or accounting for processing.
  • Maintain and meet all contracts requested by the account manager on behalf of the client.
  • Responsible for researching and resolution of product delivery and invoicing challenges in behalf of the customer/account manager. With ability to accurately and succinctly explain any such resolution to the appropriate Sales team member, Sales Manager or client contact.
  • Accurate and timely submissions by month end on any client cancellations to OV (order validation).
  • Submit to OV accurate client data information (edits/changes for address and or contact) for uploading into SAP.
  • Assist and work with sales on outstanding orders still waiting on information and or waiting on PO in order to process and complete for revenue recognition.
  • Must be proficient in process creation and training in areas of multiple business lines for product licensing and contract generation procedures.
  • Key change agent and spokesperson participating on acquisition teams integration for inclusion into Vanguard, SFA integration, and driving enhancements for quarterly releases.
  • Prepare and distribute for client legal agreements, attachments, proposals, purchase orders and business correspondence as required.
  • Member of the Global/SFA Champion/Super User program identifying enhancement opportunities, testing, providing feedback and cascading back into sales support teams.
  • As an SFA Champion/Super User provide training to sales and sales support for new releases and or support and training to new sales and sales support colleagues.
  • Submit to AOV accurate client data information (edits/changes for address and or contact) for uploading into SAP.
  • Document changes in procedures, directly train and mentor Sales Coordinator colleagues.
  • Proactive on discerning gaps and process issues identifying problems and providing resolution on problematic orders.

    You Have
    • Sales Operations experience required.
    • Proficient in supporting and processing contracts for a minimum of five or more I H S business lines.
    • Proficient in Vanguard, SFA, Business Objects and CRM.
    • 10-15 years experience in the sales organization working specifically with I H S software/data contracts.
    • Proficient working knowledge in all MS Office applications.
    • Advanced Excel experience inclusive of Pivot table and customized spreadsheet creation.
    • Ability to analyze, problem solve and balance competing priorities.
    • Highly organized and capable of effectively prioritizing tasks.
    • Previous experience working with a CRM application.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Previous experience in supporting multiple colleagues.
    • Experience with process creation and training in the areas of business lines product licensing procedures.
    • Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written).
    • Must have excellent organization skills and the ability to organize thoughts and ideas.
    • Must have the ability to interact professionally with both clients and peers.
    • Must have the ability to work under moderate supervision and handle multiple tasks.
