Summary

Our expanding Global Inside Sales team requires a highly motivated Account Executive in Penang, Malaysia. The successful applicant will be responsible for renewing and upselling our Maritime and Trade portfolio into accounts essentially across the EMEA. This role positions the individual for outstanding career growth within S&P Global

Job Objective

The objective of the role is to successfully manage an existing book of subscription business through regular contact and excellent customer service. To grow the existing revenue through exploring new opportunities within an organization. Option to pursue new logo opportunities through marketing and self-generating activity.

General Job Duties
  • Schedules activity around review calls, renewal calls and customer queries
  • Initiates and answers sales calls for S&P Global products and services
  • Following up on sales enquiries within agreed time frames to open sales opportunities
  • Conducts telephone conversations to identify and qualify prospective customers and records sales prospecting activity in CRM system
  • Ensures customer delight


Specific Job Duties
  • Develop/implement a clear strategy to exceed quota
  • Develop knowledge of S&P Global capabilities and in particular the specific Maritime & Trade Business area.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the sales value proposition for the Maritime & Trade data solutions and how they fit into the business requirements of your clients.
  • Stay on top of industry news and market trends, identifying opportunities and challenges your customers and prospects are facing
  • Develop relationships with your customers to ensure long term partnerships.
  • Maintain existing client base as well as sales in to new accounts
  • Prepare and submit accurate weekly/monthly/quarterly sales reporting and forecasting
  • Achieve specific monthly, quarterly and annual sales quota.
  • Generate referrals and new business leads
  • Responds to customer calls regarding a specific set of products and services and identifies up selling opportunities for such calls
  • Grow revenue at existing and new clients


English language required (Optional: Additional business language in EMEA)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Mature, confident & self-motivated with a passion for selling.
  • A quick learner on new products and sales approaches


Other Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CRM, etc.)
  • Knowledge of contracts and proposal process.
  • Ability to analyze business opportunities, develop effective sales strategies and close business.
  • Ability to develop account and territory plans to achieve penetration and grow revenue.
  • Ability to conduct effective presentations to all levels of clients.
  • Mature, confident & self-motivated with a passion for selling.


Background/Experience

University degree
  • Min 4 years' experience preferred of managing end to end sales for New and Renewal business.
  • Highly organized and efficient at managing day to day business with multiple priorities
