Eligibility

We're now hiring for 2021 full-time roles. We're looking for final year students who are working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent), and due to complete their studies and be available for a full time role commencing in 2021.

The role

You will be part of the Ship Ownership team, composed of 6 colleagues based in Penang within our Maritime Operations sector, providing support on research, validation, and update of Maritime entities against our global fleet data.

As part of the research and analysis requirements you will support our expansion on Data Integration project by aligning our entity data sets to financial data to create more data insight for our customers. This will not only enable exposure to research and analysis of the Maritime & Trade datasets, but also a collaboration with data Transformation colleagues in our Financial Services division.

What we're looking for

We seek candidates with diverse backgrounds and ideas with a desire to learn and thrive. The Graduate Program will provide a variety of experiences to help you identify your strengths, develop highly transferable skills, and align you to a successful career path for a bright future at IHS Markit. To be an ideal fit for the role, you should have:
  • A bachelor or master degree (or equivalent) completed no later than 2021
  • 0-6 months relevant work experience
  • Keen interest in the Maritime industry
  • Research & analysis required
  • Excellent communication
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • An aptitude to learn and adapt quickly in a rapidly changing environment
  • The ability to build strong working relationships in a collaborative setting with immediate coworkers
  • Be legally eligible to work for the duration of the program in the country for which you apply
  • Keen attention to detail and good multitasking skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office


Primary responsibilities include
  • Research & analysis pertaining to Maritime and financial related datasets as applicable to entities.
  • Updating and maintaining the Ship Ownership data in response to the above.
  • Working closely with in-country/region experts to validate data.
  • Capture and validate data through both our primary sources and newly acquired sources to transform data into critical information.
